In 2003, the Chesterfield County School Board adopted a new vision statement:

“In 2013, we envision that every Chesterfield school will be a thriving, dynamic and inspiring educational environment that produces self-directed learners and stimulates citizens of all ages to trust in, invest in, and benefit from public education.”

This vision is the result of a year's work with the community and serves as the basis for revisions to the school division’s six-year strategic plan for the school division, directs the school division’s budget decisions and sets the parameters for capital and other improvements.
